Praying Through the Church Covenant, Part 2

I will protect the unity of my church

Give thanks for...

Christ's reconciling work on the cross, which has united all believers in the family of God (Ephesians 2:11-22, Colossians 3:11, 1 Peter 2:4-5)

Elders and Pastoral staff, who devote themselves to caring for the spiritual and physical needs of the church

Pray for...

Christ to be seen by the world in the love and unity we share with one another (John 13:34-35, John 17)

Other local churches in our community, to remain faithful to the gospel of Christ and the Great Commission.

The church to grow in carrying out the "one another's" of Scripture (Love, serve, forgive, forbear, show hospitality, admonish, instruct, bear burdens, etc.)

People with diversity in marital status, age, socio-economic class, etc. to be knit together as family through the reconciling power of Christ (Galatians 3:28)

The church to be known as a community of love (Romans 12:9-21, 1 Corinthians 13, Romans 15:5)

The elders, to grow in love for Christ, for one another, and for shepherding God's flock with joy (1 Timothy 3:-17, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4, Acts 20:28, Hebrews 13:17)

Relationships that have experienced conflict to be healed and restored by Christ's power (Matthew 5:23-24, Colossians 3:12-17, Ephesians 4:31-5:2)

Ongoing faithfulness to "the faith that has once for all been entrusted to the saints", which is the basis of our unity together (Jude 3, 1 Corinthians 1:10ff, Ephesians 4:1-6)
